A shallow oval tray in lacquered metal, decorated with an orange and gold-toned long-tailed bird among flowers and leafy branches. A scrolling gold-toned border frames the decoration against a black background, with a brown reverse.
The metal is coated with successive layers of lacquer, a finish known as charão. Sourced from a manor house, this small tray makes an attractive decorative accent for a table, shelf or sideboard.
The owner confirms that the tray has been in the manor house for at least 50 years. Its precise date of manufacture is unknown.
