Devotional altar crucifix from a private family oratory, 19th century. The cross is in rosewood (pau-santo) with a finely cast bronze corpus showing realistic anatomical detail. Dark stained/painted finish with a small applied cartouche to the head of the cross. Presented on the original wooden foot.
Condition: good antique condition with age wear and patina; one corner of the wooden base is broken/lost (stable for display). Light scuffs to the cross; bronze with natural toning.
Measurements: Cross H 19 cm × W 14.5 cm; weight 276 g. Corpus H 10 cm; hand-to-hand 9 cm. A handsome ecclesiastical piece for collectors of sacred art.
