Antique Glass Flower Jars

45,00

A pair of antique clear-glass flower jars with delicate narrow necks and attractive age-related clouding. Probably dating from the late 19th or early 20th century and sourced from a historic Portuguese manor house.

A charming pair of antique clear-glass flower jars, also known as bud vases, with elegant narrow necks designed to hold a single flower or a small arrangement of delicate stems.

Although identical in shape and dimensions, the two jars have noticeably different weights: one weighs 0.100 kg and the other 0.076 kg. This variation suggests that they may have been individually hand-blown or hand-finished rather than produced through completely standardised modern manufacturing. Minor differences of this kind are part of the character and appeal of early glassware.

The glass remains in very good antique condition, with a gentle age-related cloudiness that gives the surfaces a softly timeworn appearance.

Sourced from a historic Portuguese manor house, these delicate flower jars are likely to date from the late 19th or early 20th century. They would look beautiful holding individual garden flowers, dried stems or simply displayed as a decorative pair.
