A striking 18th-century Portuguese gold coin medal from the reign of King João V (dated 1731), later mounted as a wearable brooch. The obverse shows the laureate portrait of João V with the legend around; the reverse bears the crowned Portuguese arms, both sides crisp and beautifully detailed.
